Our Doctors

Dr. Chris Hardin - Auburn University 

Dr. Hardin started volunteering with a veterinarian at age 13, and has been in the business one way or another since.  He graduated from Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994.  He came to Columbia in 1997, and bought the Two Notch Road Animal Clinic in 1999, about two weeks after marrying his wife Traci.  He started the PetFriends Veterinary Clinic in 2001 (since sold) and the Palmetto Regional Emergency Hospital for Animals in 2005.  Traci and he have a wonderful son named Tyler, two big dogs at home (Foster and Elmo), two cats at home (Grifi and Dusty) and a clinic cat here (Chester Cheeto).  Dr. Hardin appreciates the support of all the great pet parents and hospital staff who have helped make this practice what it is!

Dr. Patricia Meiser -  Iowa State University

Dr. Patti Meiser grew up in Downers Grove, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She earned her BA in Biology from North Park College in 1980. She worked as a veterinary technician in a small animal practice from 1980 to 1993 before attending Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1997. Prior to moving to South Carolina in December 2014, she owned Animal Care and Reproductive Services, LLC in Westmont, Illinois. Dr. Meiser brings to Two Notch Road Animal Clinic an interest in Behavioral Medicine, Internal Medicine and a special interest in Reproductive Medicine and Neonatal Medicine. She breeds and shows English Springer Spaniels, competing in Conformation, Obedience, Rally, Nosework, Hunt Tests and Tracking. Dr. Meiser presently resides in Elgin, SC with five English Springer Spaniels and two cats. She enjoys the outdoors and is an avid Lady Gamecocks Fan. She also enjoys attending productions at the Town Theatre, Township Auditorium, and Colonial Center in Columbia. Dr. Meiser is also a member of Shandon Presbyterian Church.


Dr. Kirk Partin - Tuskegee University

Dr. Kirk Partin received his B.S. degree from N.C.S.U. in 1973, majoring in Animal Science and Poultry Science, with a minor in Zoology.  He received his D.V.M. degree from Tuskegee University in 1977.  Dr. Partin has worked in a variety of practice settings, including large animal medicine, emergency medicine and companion animal medicine.  Professional interests includes ongoing studies in Dermatology and Internal Medicine.  Dr. Partin has been a private practitioner in the greater Columbia, SC metropolitan area for the past 28 years.  When he is not working on pets, Dr. Partin enjoys construction projects, yard work, sailing and listening to music.  He is a dad to six children, grandfather to two boys, husband to one wife and "care taker" of two cats.  He has been a valued part of our practice for many years. 

Dr. Julie Stephenson – University of Pennsylvania

Dr. Julie Stephenson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.  Dr. Stephenson brings significant ER and surgical experience to our practice.  Dr. Stephenson also has significant experience in business management, having degrees in marketing and accounting, and working as an accountant prior to becoming a veterinarian.  In addition to practicing veterinary medicine, she served as an 'Operations Manager' for a five-hospital group in her last position in North Carolina.  Prior to that she practiced in New Jersey.  We are grateful to have her on the team!

Dr. Pam Parnell - Diagnostic Pathologist

We are grateful to Dr. Parnell for the services she provides for our clients. She own Professional Veterinary Pathology Services and is past director of the Clemson University Veterinary Diagnostic Center.  Her practice has since grown to include additional pathologists.  Her group provides us with timely histopathology, cytology, and necropsy results.  

Dr. Wes Cook - Surgery Specialist

We are likewise grateful to Dr. Cook for the services he provides for our clients. Dr. Cook owns Lowcountry Veterinary Surgery in Charleston, where his wife also works as a veterinary ophthalmologist.  Dr. Cook is our 'go to' man for orthopedic and other specialty surgeries.   He has performed many TPLO surgeries for ACL ruptures, fracture repairs, luxating patella stabilizations, and many others.
